Me | How's it going? | |
Nefarius | What are YOU doing here? This is certainly a surprise.
Nefarius | I thought you had been killed.
Me | Almost. | |
Nefarius | There was quite a fuss about you, you know that? I hardly recognized Saturas, he was so beside himself about that business back then.
Me | What sort of portal is that?
Nefarius | We suspect that it leads to the lost valley where the ancient culture must have had their city.
Nefarius | But the stone behind the portal is made of massive rock, yards thick.
Nefarius | Also, there are no signs of teleportation magic. Very mysterious...
Me | Do you know how to activate it?
Nefarius | One of the missing ornaments seems to be a sort of magical KEY.
Nefarius | We'll need it to get any farther.
Nefarius | It has to fit exactly into the ring-shaped hollow next to the portal.
Me | I brought a part of the ornament.
Nefarius | (excited) Really? That's terrific.
Me | Do you have any idea where the other parts are?
Nefarius | According to the ancient inscriptions, it was broken into four pieces.
Nefarius | And it looks as though the parts are still to be found on the island...
Nefarius | With Merdarion's help, I have translated some of the inscriptions.
Nefarius | There are hints as to where the remaining pieces are.
Nefarius | Here. I've marked some of the places on this map.
Nefarius | Look around there.
Nefarius | You should pay attention to old structures. They might be somewhat deteriorated and no longer clearly recognizable.
Nefarius | It could be almost anything. A large rock, a stone circle, a mausoleum or something similar.
Nefarius | But, what am I saying? You'll find it. Good luck.
Me | Why was the ornament broken?
Nefarius | Whoever did it wanted to prevent the portal from ever being opened again.
Nefarius | The longer I stare at the inscriptions, the more I realize that the priests of the ancient culture really were no fools.
Nefarius | There was a good reason that they made the region back there inaccessible.
Nefarius | We don't know what awaits us there. But it certainly isn't anything good...
Me | About the missing ornaments...
Nefarius | (expectant) Yes?
Me | Here. I have another.
Me | I found them. | |
Nefarius | That's terrific.
Nefarius | Now only two more are missing. Maybe you can find them, too.
Nefarius | Now only one is missing, then we'll have them all together.
Nefarius | Now I have them all. Now all we have to do is put them together.
Nefarius | We will have to use our combined powers to fit the ornament back into a ring.
Nefarius | Here. I can give you some gold coins for your trouble.
Nefarius | Follow me! | |
Me | How many were there again?
Nefarius | There are four in all...
Nefarius | You should find the others where I have marked the map.
Nefarius | There. And now step aside.
Nefarius | The ornament has been put back together.
Nefarius | Since you brought us the necessary fragments, you should also set them into the portal.
Nefarius | Go to Saturas and let him give you the reassembled ring.
Nefarius | Hopefully, the portal will then open.
Me | What now? | |
Nefarius | What are you waiting for? Go and get out of our way.
